Vion is donating 5,000 packages of bacon in food packages for Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands. Farmers’ associations ZLTO, LTO Noord and LLTB set up the food parcel initiative. The Boerschappen company is taking care of the collection, packaging and shipping of the parcels.
The food parcels contain dairy, meat, vegetables, fruit, eggs, potatoes and flowers, all of Dutch origin. Farmers and companies have selflessly donated these products. Boerschappen is a local initiative that puts together grocery boxes with fresh food straight from farmers in Brabant to the consumer. They have used their network to support this initiative.
In the past week, the first 1,000 food packages were sent to Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands. Another 4,000 will be sent in the coming weeks. The Ukrainian refugees were very grateful for this wonderful gesture. We are pleased and proud to have been able to lend a helping hand to the Ukrainian refugees through this initiative!
