Vion Food Group is selling the remaining locations of Vion
Zucht- und Nutzvieh GmbH (ZuN) in Duben, Bernsdorf, Dalum and Einbeck to Raiffeisen Viehzentrale (RVZ). As part of the transaction, the largest cooperatively organised livestock trading company in Germany will take over more than 40 employees from Vion.
The closing of the transaction is subject to antitrust approval and the fulfilment of
customary closing conditions and is expected to take place in April 2025.
With this step, Vion is withdrawing completely from livestock collection and marketing in Germany and is focussing on its core market in the Benelux region.
“With Raiffeisen Viehzentrale, we have found another experienced partner that offers the involved employees long-term prospects,” says Philippe Thomas, COO Germany at Vion Food Group.
“We are confident that, with the new employees’ existing expertise, we can further
strengthen our knowledge and capabilities in pork and beef production. Additionally, these locations naturally allow us to expand our catchment areas and establish new supplier relationships,” says Martin Wesselmann, Managing Director of RVZ.
